September 2004-July 2005

During the current school year we have purchased a number of items for use in school:

Every year we give £100 to each year group (£800) to pay for Christmas presents to be used in the classroom. Last Christmas Board Games, Outdoor Toys, and a Puppet Theatre were just some of the things the staff decided to spend their money on. KS2 children discussed the spending of their money at a School Council Meeting and it was agreed that they would buy some new goal posts for playtimes, a wooden bench for the junior playground and a netball post, this took them £150 over their allotted £400, so the School Council organised a fund raising event at a lunchtime to raise the short fall.

This year instead of a Summer Raffle we decided to hold a Summer Fayre, and even though the weather was against us we raised £1200, we would like to thank everyone who supported us, and helped in any way.

During this school year KS2 children were split into four House Groups, we purchased a cup to be presented each week to the house with the most house points for that week. The cup is on display in the hall, next to the tree of achievement.

At the beginning of the year it was decided that the school piano was beyond repair, and a new one was purchased at a cost of £1100.

Our next purchase will be a Personal Address System for the school hall; at a cost of £706 this will be used on a daily basis for assemblies, PE lessons and also at Christmas Plays and concerts throughout the year

As you can see all the money raised is ploughed back into school in a variety of ways, and funds projects which just aren’t covered by the school budget.

Your continued support is invaluable – THANK YOU ALL
