Links with the Community
The school supports a chosen charity
each year. Events and collections are organized to raise money for this
cause. This year Pump Aid, has been the chosen
charity and Sport relief raised £600 where children were
encouraged to come to school dressed as a sports person instead of uniform green
and run a mile. They paid a small sum for the privilege.
High Focus Activity Weeks
One week each year is devoted to special
activities connected to a chosen theme. Themes over the past few years
have included Books, Creative
Dance, the Millennium, the Jubilee
and this year Health & Safety.
Opportunities for Music and Drama
The Local Education Authority provide
the opportunity for Key Stage 2 pupils to learn to play the violin. Each
year a group of children represent the school at the annual Recorder
Festival. All the children enjoy live concerts in school from visiting
musicians.
Visiting Speakers
A number of visitors come to the school
to speak to the children on a variety of subjects. Mr. Willetts addresses
‘Vandalism’, ‘Stranger Danger’ and ‘Drug Education’. Rev.
Leake is a regular visitor to school both in classroom support and for
assemblies. P.C. Howship also spends time with the children.
Links with Colleges
Young people visit Holly Grove on work
experience placements from Cannock College and Lichfield and Tamworth
College.
Celebrating Children’s Work
Throughout the school there is
